Portfolio Reflection
Portfolio is one the classes I have enjoyed the most, because through it I can learn to sell my skills. As an artist, every one of us is filled with ideas and capabilities, but it is hard to organize those ideas in a way that makes sense. Well, that’s what I have learned in this class. I also have been able to enhance my illustration and drawing abilities. Now I am able to combine a multitude of colors as elements to make new designs that awake new sensations in the eyes of the beholders.
Artist may have plenty of talent, but at the end of the day, it is the way their talent is organized and presented to the public that makes them successful. For example, if a designer creates a new piece of clothes, and doesn’t present it to the right audience, that designer will not be successful. I have learned to have a target in mind from the beginning of my work, whether it is males or females; children, youth, or adults; and also the social class of the people my designs are aimed to attract.
All designers must know their strengths and weaknesses in order to be able to elaborate a portfolio that show their capabilities. My strengths are colors and drawing, I love painting, drawing, and any activity that has to do with colors. My weakness is the use of the computer. It is hard for me to upload a picture and make changes to it in the computer, but it not will be forever because I am working on it. I am positive and feel confident that with much practice I will be able to learn how use the computer for future designs.
